This app was a bit too much for me. For someone who’s already disciplined with budgeting and finances, all the bells and whistles of “assigning money so it’s available to spend” etc was way too much busy work. I’m sure it’s a great app but I didn’t feel like I would get value from spending $100/year. I just wanted something simple to replace Mint, which is proving to be very hard to find!!

YNAB has help my partner and I communicate about money in concrete terms. It takes out “grey-area” and decision fatigue. My priorities are clearly listed out for me to review and hold every dollar accountable. The app and web interface itself are excellent, and customer support with real humans actually will answer any question you have, both about technical questions or some of the “YNAB philosophy” of managing money. Worth every penny just for having an app that is so stable and responsive.

I have been using YNAB for over two years and it has made a huge difference in understanding how much I need to spend on my obligations and how much I can spend on less-than-essentials. I access it primarily on my desktop and iPad but use my iPhone when out and about. I no longer stress about whether money is available because every dollar is assigned it's task when it comes in.

Very simple ui that pretty much is just a notepad with some emojis. Not much analytics available. Dont even know what the subscription pays for.

YNAB makes budgeting super easy. The app is very user friendly. Beyond the app their videos and tutorials are great for first time budgeting.

It’s a great feeling of power and calm knowing where your money is and where it’s going. I’ve saved for trips, paid off two cars early, and lived life with peace of mind.
  • Has genuinely changed my life.

I wasn’t really taught how to budget growing up. I always felt like I was good with money, but in reality I was just hesitant to spend money on anything. YNAB has made me good with money. I have complete awareness of my finances now, and I don’t feel shame about spending money any more, because I’ve already set aside the money for the specific thing I’m spending it on. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an incredible amount of money to spend on things, but the money I have has a purpose. When I use it for that purpose, there’s no guilt about it, and instead there is the sense of satisfaction that I followed through on my plans. YNAB is not judgmental. They know what it is like to struggle paycheck to paycheck, and they are 100% on your side. They want to help you get out of that cycle and out of debt so you can use your money intentionally and on the things that are most important to you. I’ve been using YNAB for a while now and I think I’ll be using it for a long time to come!
  • YNAB does not integrate w Fidelity

I bank with Fidelity so the fact that YNAB does not integrate with Fidelity makes this app useless to me and my family. Very upset because I heard Fidelity used to be supported but that is no longer the case.

We have been using YNAB for a few years now and love how it helps us to be proactive in how we spend our money. We almost always use the mobile version and there’s some features from the desktop that I wish were on mobile, such as the reports. On the mobile the reports only show age of money and net worth, but on the desktop you can breakdown your monthly spending and see your trends by specific categories and timeframes. This would be amazing to have on mobile, even if I could just easily see the total for how much I have spent for each month that would be awesome. That being said we are very happy with YNAB and plan to continue using it for a long time to come.
